How to Get Rid of Those Pre-Wedding Jitters

May 18, 2020 | Posted in Trends, Weddings

In the days leading up to your wedding, it’s natural to get anxious. You love your fiance and are ready to start your lives together, but all the stress of planning and anxieties of how the day will turn out creep up on you at once. Obviously, no one wants to feel this way on one of the most important days of their lives. That’s why we’ve come up with a few tips to help you calm those pre-wedding jitters down.

Do Something Unrelated to the Wedding

You can calm some of those nerves by taking your mind off the wedding. Plan a day where you and your fiance, friends, or family do something unrelated to your wedding. Go out for dinner, watch a movie, go shopping at the mall, attend a fun event, or perhaps have a fun sleepover.

Learn Relaxation Techniques

Wedding planning, stress, and anxiety go hand in hand. While you may not be able to get rid of all these natural responses you should know how to cope when you feel emotionally overwhelmed. Think of things that help you to relax like yoga, meditation, a massage, or sitting quietly for a few minutes.

Pamper Yourself

There’s nothing like a spa day to calm those pre-wedding jitters. Grab a friend or relative (or go alone) and treat yourself to a day of pampering. Get a full-body massage, a facial, manicure, and pedicure. Not only does this calm your nerves, but it helps to make sure you look your best on your wedding day.

Schedule a Rehearsal

A huge part of the anxiety just before the wedding comes from wondering how everything will turn out. You can alleviate this pressure by having a wedding rehearsal. This gives you an opportunity to see how all your plans will come together to make your day special. Once you see that things are going according to plan, you can rest easy.

You are about to embark on one of the most precious journeys life has to offer. Having pre-wedding jitters is essentially a natural response to all that is going on. As you don’t want to be stressed on such a special day, use the above-mentioned techniques to calm your nerves.
