The Sweetheart Table: Tips to Making it Stand Out

September 16, 2019 | Posted in Trends, Weddings

At your Crystal/Emerald Ballroom wedding reception, friends and family will gather around the bridal party to enjoy a good meal, great conversation, and fantastic music. As the stars of the event, the newlyweds should most certainly be front and center. At Crystal Ballroom in Freehold, NJ, we offer a sweetheart table that does just that. With a few unique details, you’ll be the center of attention all night long.

Mr. and Mrs.

Adding the Mr. and Mrs. sign to your table lets everyone know right away that it’s the table designated for the newly married duo. Some couples opted for colored letters and banners while others wanted glitter, lights, and more to really make it pop.

Bride and Groom Signs

Another way to differentiate your sweetheart table at your wedding reception is to add the bride and groom signs to the chair. They’re easy to set up and make a clear but trendy statement that those seats are taken.

Different Linens

When choosing linens for your wedding reception tables choose the opposite or bolder color for the sweetheart table and chairs. This couple went with black chairs while another chose tablecloths with glitter on them. We have several linen color options to choose from (including sequin and rosette available at an additional fee), so don’t be afraid to step out of the box a little with the color choice.

Bold Centerpieces

Centerpieces help to bring the decor of the reception tables together. When designing the centerpiece for the sweetheart table, step outside of the box and go bold. Large floral arrangements, pillars, candles, and other objects really make the table stand out from the rest.

Personal Touches

Don’t forget to add a bit of style and personality to your sweetheart table. Some of our personal favorites are those where couples just let loose. One couple had their sweetheart table surrounded by draped linens, sparkles, and flowers while another went with pillars, floral arrangements, and the perfect lighting colors.

After you make your grand entrance into the reception hall you want to have a seat that fit for a king and queen on their special day. That’s where the sweetheart table comes in. It’s your opportunity to design a table especially for the bride and groom that makes them feel like the center of attention on one of the most important days of their lives.
